Cooperative Learning

Group 2 Continued teaching utilizing a cooperative learning strategy for teaching the American Revolution!

Cooperative Learning is a strategy for teaching that involves group processing to analyze and apply information.  Students are learning content material and experiencing growth in social skills as well.

Students are engaged in the learning process and are working in all areas of Blooms' Toxonomy:

  • Creating
  • Evaluating
  • Analyzing
  • Applying
  • Understanding
  • Remembering

Introduction:
The group began with introductions and a brief review of the previous lesson

  • Great job using the yes/no cards for response!
Students had the opportunity to give feedback on the previous lesson

  • Good interactive responses!
Teachers asked students about what makes good group work; students discussed it in their groups and shared out a response to the class.

  • Excellent sharing among students!
Development:
While establishing the environment for group work, students were shown a video that was made by adults singing about the American Revolution.

  • Awesome way to set the stage for creative learning and project development

Expansion:
The teachers explained to students what they will be doing.
